Question

2. Of the additional CSPs for the study of medicine announced in the 2025-6 budget, how many commenced in 2026 as planned? 3. Do you have a breakdown of the Modified Monash Model location of each of these medical places - ie. the University and the Campus to which the CSP is attributed? 4. Was there any requirement in design and allocation of this grant program for a proportion of the allocated new medical places to be located in specific MMM regions? If so, what was the required breakdown? If not, why not, given the funding was designed to ''increase the likelihood that graduates will work in primary care, particularly in rural, regional, and underserved metropolitan areas''? 5. Given the evidence for ''end-to-end'' medical training of rural students in delivering positive rural health workforce outcomes, why was this program not designed to deliver at least a proportion of CSPs via ''end-to-end'' programs in regional Australia? Additionally, why was a target for rural student enrolments not set? 6. What KPIs exist within the Department for this funding program regarding the delivery of medical graduates working in specific locations by MMM at 5 and 10 years post-graduation? If these KPIs do not exist, how does the Department expect to measure the effectiveness of the program as a rural health workforce intervention? 7. Given the nebulous nature of the guidelines for this program, despite the good evidence that exists in the rural health sector about what is required to increase the likelihood of medical graduates will work rural down the track, how does the Department justify it as a ''rural health workforce program''?
