Question

A number of remote Aboriginal Medical Centres are concerned about the impact of new reporting rules for assigning Medicare benefits on remote bulk-billing clinics (who have historically been allowed compliance flexibility around submission of written assignment forms). ? Has this concern been raised with the Department by NACCHO or directly from people working in remote clinics? How is the Department responding to those concerns? ? The new enduring assignment provisions will reduce the paperwork burden, but there will be some time before those provisions take effect. Will the Department provide an amnesty for remote services around compliance with the new rules during the transition to enduring assignment?
