Reforms and sustainability
Question
1. What measures are being put in place to ensure participants can continue to access essential social and community supports during the transition, particularly where providers face constraints in maintaining service delivery? 2. What guidance, transition supports, and implementation detail will be provided to enable organisations to understand how to adapt their service models under the new NDIS framework, and within what timeframe? 3. How will the funding model recognise and support the organisational infrastructure required to deliver quality services, including the role of economies of scale in maintaining provider viability? 4. Given the Government's decision to reset and reduce funding for social and community participation supports, what evidence has been used to assess the impact on participants' inclusion, independence and mental wellbeing - particularly for those who rely on these supports as their primary connection to community life? 50% reduction in Community participation will have a significant impact on this cohort, along with broader impacts on workforce within the NDIS sector, have these impacts been taken into account when assessing the level of reduction to be implemented? 5. What assessment has the Government undertaken on the financial sustainability of high-quality allied health and disability service providers under current pricing settings, particularly in light of reductions in therapy price limits and travel reimbursements? 6. How do recent NDIS reforms - including tighter pricing, increased compliance requirements, and changes to funding envelopes - account for the existing workforce shortages and retention challenges in the disability sector?
