Question

1. Is there a nationally consistent standard used for the diagnosis of autism in paediatric populations? 2. What registered medical health professionals can officially diagnose Autism? 3. Please provide data on current and historic rates of Autism in Australia, for every year beginning in 1990. Please breakdown between paediatric and adult populations. 4. Has there been an increase in the rate of Autism diagnosis since the introduction of the NDIS? Please advise rates before and most recent. 5. How has the expansion of criteria from the DSM-4 to the DSM-5 affected the rates of diagnosis? 6. Has the Department initiated any investigation into the potential cause of Autism as a result of vaccination? 7. What is the national cost, per year, to Australia of Autism? How does the cost compare, in financial terms, to the 1990s?
