9. Recognition and data collection for chronic UTI a. Does the Government collect national data on the prevalence and impact of urinary tract infections (UTI)? b. If so, please provide gender disaggregated data for each of the past five financial years on: i. The number of GP and specialist visits for UTI. ii. The number of emergency department presentations associated with UTI. iii. The number of hospital presentations associated with UTI. iv. The number of more serious forms of UTI, such as recurrent UTI, chronic UTI and pyelonephritis. v. The number of deaths associated with urosepsis. c. Does the Department have any plans to follow the lead of the UK's National Health Service to formally recognise chronic urinary tract infection as a legitimate health condition?
