NDIA Staff - Point of Support Technology Program
Question
Mr Porter: ...I will point out that it is the minimum level and we are expecting some additional staffing to be approved alongside the release of funding. When approved, that's in the contingency reserve, again, as set out in the budget papers, for the delivery of the payment at point of support technology program. Senator ASKEW: Do you have a number for how many that's likely to be, or are you saying it'll just be whatever's required? Mr Porter: We're working through the DTA assurance process at the moment, and I'm not in a position to tell you what the number will be until that process has concluded. But the program is in the order of $353 million, so it is a significant program that will require a number of staff to deliver it. Senator ASKEW: Do you have a rough idea of what you would expect that to be? Mr Porter: I'm not in a position to tell you the number at the moment, but we're happy to take it on notice. Senator ASKEW: I was going to ask: what is the timeframe before you would be in a position to provide that? Mr Porter: I can't speak to how quickly other parts of government move. Senator ASKEW: Fair enough. Mr Porter: We hope that it will be as quickly as possible, but we of course need to go through the process ultimately to assure government that it will be an efficient and effective investment. Senator ASKEW: If you could take it on notice to provide whatever you can around it, that would be appreciated. Mr Porter: Of course.
