Question

Senator RUSTON: Okay. So, as long as you met the residency requirements, it didn't matter what type of visa you were on-as long as that was a visa that was captured by the NDIS. Mr Head: That's correct. Senator RUSTON: For new entrants into the scheme, is there any additional information around that now? Mr Head: Mr Gifford can help. Mr Gifford: Yes. I think the information is captured at the point-of-access decision now. It is important to note, though, that, for example, if a participant who is a permanent resident but not a citizen then subsequently becomes a citizen, that information wouldn't be updated. Senator RUSTON: But do you collect the data now, at that point of access, as to what their status is, as opposed to initially meeting the requirements of the act as Mr Head just described? Mr Gifford: Yes, that's correct. Senator RUSTON: When did that come into being? Mr Gifford: For precisely when, I'd have to take it on notice. I believe it was about four years or so ago.
