Data on Whistleblowers

Question

Senator ASKEW: I'm going to go into whistleblower protections next. How many whistleblower reports have the agency or commission received since 1 June 2025? That's this financial year. Ms Alisa Chambers: I don't have that data on me now. We'll have to take that on notice. Senator ASKEW: The questions are sort of in relation to the bill that was passed on 1 April this year, the integrity and safeguarding bill. That's where I'm focusing my attention. Ms Wade: In response to that particular reform, the date period we will provide you on notice will reference both before the reform and after. Certainly we acknowledge that there has been significant change to the protections available to whistleblowers that might provide information to the commission around fraud and integrity concerns.
