Remote Area Allowance

Question

1. Given the higher cost of living disproportionately affects remote-living First Nations people and has implications on a number of Closing the Gap targets across health, life expectancy, economic participation and housing, why did the government choose not to increase the Remote Area Allowance? 2. Why is the Remote Area Allowance not indexed?
