Reviews Undertaken
Question
Mr Lye: We would say: 'Here's a review. Here's a finding. We intend to publish it on this date.' We might ask the minister whether they're comfortable about publication. Senator RUSTON: What happens if they aren't? Mr Lye: That situation hasn't arisen that I can think of. Senator RUSTON: You must be briefing well. Could you provide details of the times when you've actually sought ministerial approval for the release of review reports, because, if it hasn't happened very often, I'd be interested to understand what you thought was- Mr Lye: I don't recall that it's happened at all. Senator RUSTON: Maybe if you could come back- Mr Lye: I'm happy to take it on notice. Senator RUSTON: If you could come back and say, 'It's never happened,' that would be great. I'm also interested to understand if, when you've sent something up and said, 'We're releasing this information on such and such date,' the minister's office has come back and said, 'You can't do that,' or, 'Don't do that,' or, 'Please don't do that.' That would be useful. I'll get that list sent through to you.
