Question

Senator RUSTON: Could I ask you about multiple birth allowance, which is paid anomalously to parents of triplets. I always thought two was multiple. Can you provide the data on the number of recipients nationally for this payment? Ms Chatham: Let me just check. For the 2024-25 entitlement year, there were around 600 families that received the multiple birth allowance. Senator RUSTON: Is that available by electorate? It doesn't probably identify who the people are if we did it by electorate given the small numbers. Mr Flavel: I suspect you're right, given the low numbers. Because of the way data confidentiality arrangements work, it's probably not broken down. Senator RUSTON: Yes. Mr Lye: By state it would be. Senator RUSTON: Whatever the granularity that you're able to provide, it'd be great. Does this payment have the same residential requirements as FTB A and B? Mr Flavel: Yes. Senator RUSTON: Once again, where it is relevant and possible, can you break that down by the visa status.
