Question

Senator RUSTON: I might seek some clarification to make sure that we're speaking about the same thing. I'm not going to waste anyone's time. Community led data capture initiatives under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan-do we know what we're talking about? ACTING CHAIR: We'd like to think so, Senator Ruston! Senator RUSTON: It was listed as an activity under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan 2023-25. I'm wondering if you could provide some detail about what this practically might look like? Ms Lutz: That title relates to some community programs and grants that have gone to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. I would need to take on notice-we can certainly provide you the list of services that relate to an extension to those programs, which were originally funded under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan. I can provide on notice the list of providers and extensions. Senator RUSTON: I'm keen to understand how the community led data will be captured and integrated into the greater national database, who's going to capture it, how often and what kind of data is collected, as well as if third-party organisations will be involved in the collection of the data and some details about the procurement process? Ms Lutz: Those programs are service providers doing different programs on the ground. We can certainly give you information about the data they're collecting and how we'll feed that into what that means for other community led work we're doing.
