ASL Data for the National Commission for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People

Senator RUSTON: Can I ask some questions around ASL for the National Commission for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People. Budget Paper No. 4 shows the commission's ASL increasing from 14 people in 2025-26 to 24 people in 2027-28. What is the total employee related cost with this 10-person FTE increase? I'm interested to break that down into salaries and costs. Ms Hunter: I'll have to take that one on notice, if that's okay. Senator RUSTON: Sure. I'm interested in the proportion of the commission's total budget that's allocated to staffing versus program delivery. Ms Hunter: We won't be delivering programs as such. Ours will be more about going out to communities and consulting and the voices of children. I can get the other two on notice.
