Question

1. Does the department/agency allow for the use of ChatGPT, CoPilot, Claude, or other AI services on the internal network? a. If so, what risk management and governance mechanisms are in place to protect government data? 2. Please provide the department/agency policy on use of artificial intelligence. 3. Has the department/agency purchased a subscription for staff to an AI service? If so: a. How many staff have access to this subscription; b. Was the subscription purchased through a whole-of-government procurement arrangement; and c. Would this purchase meet the requirements for the Governments proposed changes to procurement in Workplace Relations Legislation Amendment (Building Cooperative Workplaces No. 1) Bill 2026? 4. Does the department or agency consider itself operationally ready to scale AI? a. If not, why and is it due to constraints such as fragmented data, legacy systems, poor integration and or technical debt? b. What does your department or agency need to do before AI can be used safely at scale?
