Question

Senator BARBARA POCOCK: They are utterly inadequate to the project of regulating these behemoths, and what you're describing is an incredibly complex structure- Ms Court: It is. Senator BARBARA POCOCK: that you have to find your way through to try and find a hook to regulate a multibillion-dollar operation. These are very large partnerships. Can you refer these partners to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions for criminal prosecution? Ms Court: I might have to take that on notice. I would have to take on notice whether or not the potential contraventions that relate to registered company auditors are criminal offences. I suspect they're not, but I can take that on notice for you, Senator.
