ASIC - Meeting documentation and FRAA review
Question
Senator DEAN SMITH: Mr Gregson, are there minutes of the meeting or a record of the discussion of topics at the meeting? Ms Court: I don't believe we have minutes arising from those meetings. No, Senator. Mr Gregson: That's correct. Senator DEAN SMITH: There are no notes taken of the meeting discussion? Mr Gregson: There are no minutes, as the chair mentioned, but, no doubt, there's a summary of that meeting. Senator DEAN SMITH: Could the summary or any documentation attached to those two meetings-whatever the recorded form of the meeting is, whether it be notes, action items et cetera-be provided to the committee as well? Mr Gregson: We can take that on notice. I can confirm there's been just one meeting this year. Senator DEAN SMITH: What date was that? Mr Gregson: It was 19 May. Senator DEAN SMITH: The meeting previous to 19 May was on what date? Ms Court: It must have been 2025, but we may be able to find that out as we're sitting here. Senator DEAN SMITH: Of course, Mr Gregson, there are various opportunities to make information available to the committee, so, if, for whatever reason, it may not be appropriate or ASIC might feel uncomfortable about providing that information on notice in a way that is visible to everyone, you can make it available just to the committee. Mr Gregson: Indeed, Senator. Senator DEAN SMITH: You're aware of that. Has the matter of the FRAA review into ASIC been an agenda item? Ms Court: Just to clarify, do you mean the previous FRAA review? Senator DEAN SMITH: No, the forthcoming FRAA review. Ms Court: For the forthcoming FRAA review, we'd have to take that on notice and check their record to see whether it's been an agenda item in and of itself. It has certainly been an issue that we've discussed from time to time, as I said.
