Question

1. Treasury officials stated that delivery of housing policies had consumed ''every available resource and every available minute of public sector capability''. Has the Cities and Suburbs Unit experienced staffing shortages since the machinery-of-government changes? 2. What was the staffing level of the Cities and Suburbs Unit: a. at transfer to Treasury; b. at 31 December 2025; c. at present? 3. Have any planned cities policy projects (other than SOAC reports) been delayed, cancelled or deferred due to staffing or resource constraints? 4. Has Treasury sought additional funding or staffing resources for cities policy functions? a.If yes, provide details. 5. What proportion of Cities and Suburbs Unit resources are currently devoted to: a. housing policy; b. planning reform; c. urban policy; d. State of Australian Cities reporting; and e. stakeholder engagement
