? What is the next step in the Treasury / ABCB review of the NCC? ? Why is the NCC still 2,350 pages, and when will the revised version take effect? ? How many people across Treasury work on the NCC including the review; what is the FTE; and ASL? ? How many meetings with the Housing Minister have ABCB representatives had? What are the staffing levels? ? How many briefs has Treasury done on the NCC review - can you provide them? ? Does the NCC review have clear targets for reducing compliance burden and cost? ? Has Treasury quantified the cost of the NCC and NCC 2025 preview? Can this be disaggregated? ? The Budget papers commit to simplifying the NCC, what does this mean, what details? How did you calculate the benefits? ? Was it a mistake to expand it in the first place and add additions to the 2025 NCC? ? How much the incremental changes of the NCC have cost the economy and Australians over time? ? Can you provide an update on Modern Methods of Construction? ? NSW recently announced changes to fast-track approvals and compliance of MMC. What is the process to fast-track this nationally and drive consistency? ? FOI 4243 notes the additional complexity wrought by successive editions of the NCC, including the 2025 NCC and the review of the NCC underway. This includes a Treasury briefing stating there is ''clear fatigue with complexity, particularly among smaller practitioners, reinforcing the importance of simplifying requirements, improving guidance and digitising tools, rather than relying solely on regulation.'' ? How did you address these concerns from stakeholders? ? Are you considering other approaches rather than just adding more red tape and regulations? ? How do you take into account the concerns of small business / practitioners specifically?
