Consultation on Budget tax changes to negative gearing, capital gains and trusts

Question

1. Were any external stakeholders consulted before the measures were announced? Which stakeholders and on what dates? 2. Was the Government's Office for Youth, Youth Steering Committee or any Youth Advisory Groups consulted by Treasury or the Treasurer? 3. Was the Office for Women consulted? Was a Gender Impact Analysis undertaken? Why is there no mention of these major tax changes in the Women's Budget Statement? 4. Was ASBFEO consulted? If so, what was the nature of that consultation, was it broad or limited to the role ASBFEO will play on future consultations?
