Question

In response to a series of questions on notice relating to AI transparency statements under the Policy for the responsible use of AI in government with portfolio question number SBE497, the Mint responded 'Yes' in answer to the question 'Did the agency/department publish an AI transparency statement by February 2025?'. In documents tabled in response to order for the production of documents no. 285 (on page 8), an email from a Digital Transformation Agency official notes that the Mint had not published an AI transparency statement as at 4 March 2025. 1. Was the DTA email incorrect, had the Mint published an AI transparency statement prior to 4 March 2025? If NO: 2. Why did the Mint answer question 2 of PQN SBE497 by saying that they had published an AI transparency statement by the deadline? 3. Does the Mint understand the gravity of misleading the Senate, and that to do so may constitute a contempt of the Senate? If YES: 4. Why was DTA under the impression that the Mint had not published an AI transparency statement? 5. On what date did the Mint publish an AI transparency statement? 6. Why did the Mint fail to explain why it had not published an AI transparency statement by the due date in answer to AE25025-26 QoN SQ26-000040? 7. Please provide all communications between the Mint and DTA in relation to the Mint's supposedly delayed publishing of an AI transparency statement.
