Question

1. As the register went live on 27 February 2026 and gave providers a four-week window to upload workforce information, how many approved providers met this initial deadline? a. How many failed to meet the initial deadline? i. Can the Department provide on notice, the state/territories of these providers, along with their provider type. 2. How many individual educators have been tracked moving between different services or across state jurisdictions since the register's inception? a. How many cases has resulted in an investigation? 3. Of the $45 million invested to develop and implement the register, how much remains unspent? a. Will this be repurposed within the safety reforms package? 4. During the recent blitz where over 500 centres were visited by NSW and Victorian regulators, how many were found to have failed to implement the mandatory register? 5. Can the Department provide an update on the investigation into the G8 Education service caught employing a worker banned since 2020 (Source: SMH)? a. Was it a matter of the employee not being registered in the National Register at all? b. How were authorities alerted to this employment arrangement? 6. How is the Department coordinating data-sharing from the national register to the respective state regulatory authorities?
