Question

1. Does the Government acknowledge that demand-driven subsidies are insufficient in "childcare deserts" and will it commit to introducing ongoing supply-side block funding for rural and remote ECEC services? 2. How is the Government ensuring that children in rural and remote communities have equitable access to ECEC, given services in these areas are often financially unviable without subsidy? 3. What measurable targets or benchmarks does the Government use to assess whether access to ECEC services in these communities is equitable compared to metropolitan areas? 4. How many council-operated or regional ECEC services are currently at risk of closure due to financial unsustainability, and what contingency plans does the Government have to prevent loss of access to ECEC services? 5. Has the Government identified specific high-risk communities, and what intervention triggers would prompt extra Commonwealth support before a closure occurs?
