Question

1. The Education PBS refers to consultation on a possible Early Learning and Care Commission, but there is no standalone budget line, has the Government done any preliminary costing work for the Commission? 2. What specific functions and powers are proposed for the Early Education and Care Commission? 3. What consultation has been undertaken with state and territory governments regarding the establishment of the Commission? 4. What is the anticipated timeline for the development and establishment of the Commission? 5. What role will the Commission have in addressing workforce shortages across the early childhood education and care sector? 6. How will the Commission support the provision of early childhood education and care services in regional, rural and remote communities? 7. How will the proposed Commission interact with existing regulatory bodies, including the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)? 8. Is the Government considering transferring any existing responsibilities from ACECQA to the proposed Commission? 9. Will the Government publicly release any discussion papers, consultation papers or advice provided to Education Ministers ahead of the July Education Ministers Meeting?
