Question

1. In the 2026-27 Budget, ACARA has been allocated $18.2 million over four years, which Budget Papers say represents the Commonwealth's 50% share. Can ACARA confirm then the total amount of funding coming to ACARA will be around $36.4 million for "Maintenance of the NAPLAN system"? 2. What process does ACARA go through to seek additional funding from Education Ministers? 3. How is additional funding costed - is that undertaken by ACARA or the Department of Education? 4. Which jurisdictions have committed to this additional funding? Can the Department please list which states have agreed; have not agreed; or have not agreed. 5. What is the funding for? Can ACARA please specify how much of the funding is for staff, IT systems, maintenance, etc? 6. Can ACARA please take on notice a breakdown of the Budget for the additional funding - of $36.4 million. 7. When did ACARA identify it required this additional funding? 8. On what date did ACARA identify its need for funding to the Education Minister or Education Ministers?
