Answer due: 23 July 2026

Question

Senator KOVACIC: Minister, could I get a response from the minister on those same questions as well, in relation to his attendance to those events, given that the department doesn't have access to whether the minister has attended those events or not? Specifically, could the minister answer how many event briefs the department has prepared for his attendance at non-government schools since 23 May 2022 and how many times the minister has visited a non-government school since he took office. Could you provide that information as well, given the department doesn't have access to that information. Senator Walsh: We'll take it on notice. Senator KOVACIC: Thank you. Could the minister also advise, since the minister took office, how many times he has visited an event for non-government school associations like Christian schools as well-not just attending the schools but the conferences or events of those schools-because I'm hearing that there is a view that the independent schools sector isn't getting the engagement with the minister that they would like, and there is a concern that the support and commitment for non-government schools isn't there. Senator Walsh: I'll take the question on notice.
