Question

Senator KOVACIC: Secretary, under the terms of reference for the Education Ministers Meeting, ministers are supported at meetings by a maximum of one official, one observer and, where appropriate, one adviser. Do you normally attend the next Education Ministers Meeting? Mr Cook: Yes, I do. Senator KOVACIC: Will you attend the upcoming meeting? Mr Cook: I have attended every single meeting for many years. Senator KOVACIC: So it's rock solid on your calendar? Mr Cook: I can assure you it's a date not to be missed. Senator KOVACIC: Excellent. When is that next meeting? Mr Cook: I want to say the next meeting is 16 July. Do you mind if I quickly check my diary? But I'm sure it's 16 July. Senator KOVACIC: While you're looking for that, to your knowledge, have the dates for the next set of meetings been set? Mr Cook: My expectation is there would be at least one more before the end of the year-but not to my knowledge. Sorry, it's 15 July, not 16 July-my correction. Senator KOVACIC: Could you let me know on notice if you do have dates for the meetings for the remainder of the year. Mr Cook: Sure. What usually happens is that there's a discussion post those meetings about the next meeting, so I think the setting of the next meeting would happen after the 15 July meeting, but I'm happy to take it on notice regardless. Senator KOVACIC: Thank you.
