Projected Impact of NCCD Compliance Audits on School Funding Repayments

Senator KOVACIC: The next one on notice is fine. In 2025-26, 112 schools were required to repay funding after NCCD adjustments. How many schools does the department expect to be affected each year under the new compliance regime? Ms Brighton: We'll take that on notice. Under our current settings, I think we have an audit target in the order of 350 a year. Some of those audits will find nothing; everything will be squeaky clean. Some of those audits will find concerns and repayments that need to be made. But we'll take it on notice and give you what we can.
