Closure of ECEC Services

Question

Senator HODGINS-MAY: I've got some questions in relation to centre closures. Following reports that G8 Education is closing around 40 services, can the department please tell us how many ECEC services have closed or announced suspension of services in the past 12 months in total. Mr Cook: I'll see whether we've got that data on hand or whether we might have to take it on notice. Ms Crane: Yes, we'll have to take that one on notice. You're talking across the whole sector? Senator HODGINS-MAY: Yes, across the sector. I'm just using G8 as an example. Mr Cook: We're happy to take that on notice.
