Breakdown of the Building Early Education Fund Election Commitments
Question
Mr Smyth: That sits a little bit outside the federation funding agreement. Effectively, the funding is in two parts for states and territories. There were a number of election commitments made across a number of jurisdictions. In addition to that funding-generally-there was effectively a notional allocation that was provided to states and territories which we're negotiating off that is around a population-style split for each of those jurisdictions, subject to them putting forward projects that satisfied the selection criteria that we assessed. There's also a floor that was put in place for smaller jurisdictions like the ACT and the Northern Territory so that they had viable projects able to be put forward for funding because, on a normal population split, we don't believe that they would have received sufficient funding to make a viable service. Senator O'SULLIVAN: On the funding, have all the election commitments been fulfilled now? Mr Smyth: We've concluded 10 of the 15 election commitments. There are three election commitments that will be resolved through the Western Australian federation funding agreement, there's one in the Northern Territory and there is another grant round that is currently going on in Tasmania for a specific site, Malangenna. The last one, another election commitment, is Sikh Grammar School. In BEEF, there are five remaining, and there's one outside that. Senator O'SULLIVAN: Can you provide on notice the list of those 15, the value of each and the projected completion dates.
