Answer due: 16 July 2026

Question

1. For the National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA), was RCP8.5 (or its CMIP6 equivalent, SSP5-8.5) used as an input scenario? 2. Of the 63 climate risks identified in the NCRA, how many, and what exact percentage, of those risk ratings were modelled using the assumptions of RCP8.5 or SSP5-8.5? 4. Noting the IPCC's formal acknowledgement that RCP8.5/SSP5-8.5 represents an increasingly implausible, low-likelihood high-emissions scenario, does the ACS stand by the ''worst-case'' scenario outcomes presented to the public in the NCRA? 5. Given the heavy structural influence of RCP8.5/SSP5-8.5 on these cascading risk calculations, will the ACS formally review, revise, or recall any findings of the NCRA?
