Question

Regarding the Queensland Great Dividing Range wind-farm developments, including turbine pads, hardstands, laydown areas, concrete batching plants, substations, transmission corridors and the extensive haul-road network; 1. Has the Department assessed whether these approvals effectively create long-term renewable-energy industrial precincts, where repowering at 20-30 year intervals may require new or enlarged turbine pads, crane hardstands, haul roads, access tracks and transmission infrastructure? 2. If not, has the Department assessed the cumulative greenhouse-gas, vegetation, soil-carbon and biodiversity impacts of repeated repowering cycles, rather than treating each project as a one-off disturbance?
