1. Approvals under the current EPBC rules a. Do you track the whole of approval timeframes - not just statutory - required from referral to approval? b. How long does it take to approve a housing project? c. How long does it take to approve a coal project? d. How long does it take to approve an oil and gas project? e. What are the profiles of housing projects still in approval processes? f. How many projects have been submitted and then withdrawn? g. Should projects taking longer than 12 months be directly escalated to the Minister for a decision? h. Is there publicly available data showing Requests for Information (RFIs) per application, and time to approval including time delays from RFIs? i. Do you track how often the Department stops the clock to request more information? 2. How much faster will approvals be under the new EPBC Act? a. What is the exact KPI or expected time improvement? b. What metrics and KPIs are going to ensure the public and EPA know the EPBC is working well? 3. What will be the cost of complying with the new EPBC for participants? a. In terms of legal costs, timing, etc? b. How will that change in the new EPBC rules / costs?
