Question

1. What metrics does DCCEEW use to assess success in achieving net zero. For each metric, please state whether it measures: a. cost; b. emissions; c. capacity; or d. another outcome. 2. Does DCCEEW use any metric that measures cost outcomes for households, businesses, farms or regional landholders. If yes, please identify the metric and the document in which it appears. 3. Did any Commonwealth pathway relied on in 2025-26 include: a. extension of the operating life of existing coal-fired generation; b. refurbishment of existing coal-fired generation; or c. new coal-fired generation. 4. Did the Commonwealth undertake any analysis comparing the relative costs of new transmission corridors with upgrades to existing corridors? If yes, please identify the analysis and state where it is published. 5. What is DCCEEW's current assessment of the role of hydrogen in meeting the 2035 and 2050 targets? Please identify the modelling or other analysis that supports that assessment. 6. Which DCCEEW portfolio measures are included in Treasury's ''new net zero spending measures'' or equivalent 2026-27 Budget measures? Please provide a list of those measures. 7. What role did DCCEEW play in designing the Net Zero Fund. Please state the problem the Fund is intended to address for hard-to-abate industries. 8. For the Capacity Investment Scheme, as at the latest available date, please state: a. total contracted capacity; b. total capacity at financial close; c. total capacity under construction; and d. total capacity operational. 9. Has DCCEEW changed any modelling, assumptions or planning as a result of Queensland repealing its renewable energy targets? If yes, please identify each change and the document recording it. 10. Does DCCEEW's current analysis indicate that, if Queensland delivers less renewable generation or storage than previously assumed: a. other states would need to deliver more; or b. the national pathway would be delayed.
