1. Australian Antarctic Division admits to 'extraordinary overspend' of $42m before climate projects halted a. You previously conceded the AAD had ''no clear budgets at a branch level'' and lacked transparency about how money was spent. How was a $42 million overspend in a single year allowed to occur? b. What specific internal budgeting reforms have been put in place since to ensure this kind of failure does not recur? c. How many of the 16 recommendations made in the report have had tangible progress made toward their achievement? d. What progress specifically has been made with regards to recommendation 1, that of immediately developing and publishing annual accountability metrics and performance targets?
