Question

In December, new EPBC tree clearing laws passed the Federal Parliament. Landholders continue to seek clarity on the practical implications of these changes. 1. When will detailed guidance or operational rules be released? 2. What level of detail will be included, and will it provide property-specific clarity for landholders? 3. How will landholders determine whether proposed activities require self-assessment or formal referral? 4. How will these federal requirements interact with existing Queensland vegetation management frameworks, including Category X land and PMAVs? 5. Will updated mapping tools or decision-support systems be provided to assist landholders? 6. What exemptions apply to ongoing agricultural activities, including grazing and established land use practices?
