National Adaptation Plan

1. What is the process for responding to the National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA) and implementing the principles detailed in the National Adaptation Plan (NAP)? 2. How is engagement with states and territories occurring, to support development of the NAP 'Action Agenda'? How regularly are you meeting with state/territory representatives and what does that process entail? 3. How is engagement with the community sector occurring? How will you ensure a broad and representative sample of Australian communities and community service organisations have their say in the Action Agenda? 4. What funding has been committed to support climate adaptation since the Government received the National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA) and finalised the NAP? a. What proportion of that funding has gone to the community sector? 5. Does the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water have any involvement in administration of the Disaster Ready Fund? If not, why not, given this is the primary funding vehicle to support climate adaptation efforts? 6. The NCRA and NAP both recognise the disproportionate impacts that climate change is having on First Nations communities - what is being done to support these communities to adapt to the changing climate? 7. How is the DCCEEW tracking the impacts of climate change on First Nations communities? Do you have some way of assessing which communities are being most heavily impacted? 8. Public housing and rental properties in the NT are not legally required to meet minimum energy efficiency standards. The Commonwealth is investing a significant amount of money in remote housing in the NT - is the Commonwealth applying conditions for this money to ensure higher thermal standards for new builds? If not, why not?
