The Albanese Government committed in the recent election campaign to ban the import of 20 CITES-listed species - American black bear, brown bear, caracal, chacma baboon, Hartmann's mountain zebra, giraffe, vervet monkey, Red lechwe, Cougar, Grey wolf, Hippopotamus, Siberian ibex, Blackbuck, Blue duiker, African civet, Polar bear, Barbary sheep, Marco Polo sheep, Wildcat, and Canada lynx for trophy hunting. For alltrophies imported in 2024 and 2025: a. What was the country of origin for each trophy? b. What body parts were imported? c. What was the market value of each trophy? d. How much does a trophy import permit cost? Who is the fee paid to? e. Please provide a description of the process of applying for a trophy hunting import permit, include what information is required in the application (such as photographs)
