Question

1. Does the Department have any current or past relationships, including advertising, sponsorship, donation, partnership, strategic partnership, grant arrangement, co-branded promotion, educational outreach initiative, climate literacy initiative, energy literacy program, CCS-related education program, or public awareness campaign, with fossil fuel companies or fossil fuel industry bodies? Please include: a. school-facing or youth-facing programs b. climate or energy education initiatives c. educational resources provided to schools, teachers, students, museums, science centres, or community organisations d. programs involving carbon capture and storage (CCS), gas, LNG, hydrogen produced from fossil fuels, or other fossil fuel-linked technologies e. partnerships administered through portfolio agencies, statutory authorities, publicly funded entities, museums, science centres, grant recipients, or educational partners overseen or funded by the Department. 2. If yes, for each arrangement please provide: a. company or industry body name (and ABN/parent entity if relevant) b. entity/program involved c. type of arrangement d. description of educational, public engagement, or youth-facing activities undertaken e. start date (month/year) f. end date/term and any extension options g. total value (cash and estimated in-kind) by financial year and overall total value h. whether the Department conducted any conflict-of-interest, reputational-risk, scientific-integrity, or misinformation-risk assessments in relation to the arrangement i. copies of memoranda of understanding, partnership agreements, sponsorship agreements, educational materials, communications plans, internal briefings, or risk assessments relating to these arrangements. 3. Has the Department developed any internal guidance, policy, or risk assessment framework regarding fossil fuel industry involvement in educational materials, climate literacy initiatives, energy education programs, or youth-facing public engagement activities? If yes, please provide copies. 4. Has the Department considered whether industry-produced climate or energy education materials may create risks of misinformation, greenwashing, or inconsistency with established climate science communicated by the Commonwealth?
