Question

1. Despite government assurances that funding for Ranger roles would continue 'for the coming months', between July and December 2025 Ranger coordinators were continuing to work while awaiting funds. a. Is the government aware of the extent of the funding gap, and have Ranger groups been fully back paid? 2. How many paid positions (FTE and part-time) within Ranger groups lapsed or were terminated due to the funding gap between 1 July 2025 and the commencement of bridging funding? a. How has this contributed to the loss of institutional knowledge through increased staff turnover? 3. How many and which activities, projects and roles terminated at July 2025 when the Ghost Net Initiative funding ceased?
