Question

1. Why has the Government set 9 June as the deadline for gazetting a bilateral agreement for environmental assessment and approval processes with the Tasmania Government? a. Did the Department provide the Minister with any advice on securing bilateral agreements before a Matters of National Environmental Significance standard under the 2025 EPBC Act reforms has been finalised and implemented? i. If so, could you please provide a copy of the advice to the Committee? ii. Was this advice requested by the Minister, or proffered by the Department? b. Was this date negotiated with the Tasmanian Government, or proscribed by the Commonwealth?
