Question

1. An Environmental Impact Statement provided to the Environmental Protection Authority Tasmania by Cement Australia for its Alternate Fuels Project in Railton has identified eight EPBC-listed species that will potentially be impacted by the development , which doesn't include the impacts of transport and infield wood chipping. However, Cement Australia has neither submitted a Protected Matters report, nor referred the project under the EPBC Act. Has the Minister sought advice from the Department on referring the project under the EPBC Act? a. Has the Department provided any advice to the Minister on referring the project under the EPBC Act? b. Has any member/s of the public written to the Minister requesting referral of the project under the EPBC Act? c. Has any member/s of the public written to the Department requesting referral of the project under the EPBC Act?
