Question

In light of the Juukan Gorge inquiry findings and the current Hillside matter, how is the department ensuring that: (a) best-practice standards for free, prior and informed consent and Traditional Owner partnership are applied in its assessment of the Hillside ATSIHP applications; and (b) lessons from Hillside are informing ongoing work on national reforms to Aboriginal cultural heritage protection so similar situations cannot recur?
