Question

1. The 2026-27 Budget includes $3.9 million to support transparency, integrity and understanding of water markets, deliver key reforms, and work with affected communities. (a) Will this work include addressing the issues identified in the Inspector-General of Water Compliance's Inquiry into the Northern Basin Toolkit, including findings relating to governance, project delivery and accountability? (b) What actions has the Department taken, or does it plan to take, in response to the Inquiry's findings? 2. What is the current status of outstanding infrastructure measures under the Northern Basin Toolkit Program, and what are the expected timeframes for their completion? 3. Has the Department undertaken analysis of the impacts of the 70 GL reduction in water recovery under the Northern Basin Toolkit on: (a) river connectivity; and (b) water quality in the Northern Basin? If so, please provide details. 4. How will the 70GL be reconciled if not delivered?
