ABC - Antisemitism

Question

1. Has the ABC received correspondence or met with APAN, Nasser Mashni or any member of the APAN board, the Jewish Council of Australia, or its representatives, Media Diversity Australia, ABC Alumni organisation and/or staff unions or bodies linked to staff unions, on the IHRA definition of antisemitism and their views on how the ABC should report the Gaza/Israel, Hezbollah/Israel and Iran conflicts since Oct 7 2023: if so, who? Please provide a copy of all such correspondence including any reply by the ABC. 2. Please confirm the ABC's definition of antisemitism. What criteria is applied when assessing complaints about alleged antisemitic content? 3. Could the ABC provide copies of any editorial guidelines or circulars to reporters relating to antisemitism? 4. The ABC has received many complaints that its reporting since 7 October 2023 may have fuelled antisemitism. Has it conducted any assessments of its reporting in this regard? If so, please provide a copy of such assessments. 5. How many documentaries or current affairs pieces or other works of journalism on antisemitism have been pitched to the ABC since 7 October 2023 and how many have been commissioned by the ABC? Please provide details of each proposal (a) accepted and (b) rejected, including all correspondence in relation to proposals which have been rejected. 6. Did the ABC receive a submission/pitch for a documentary on antisemitism at the time of the Bondi massacre: if so, was it commissioned; if not, why not? 7. Have any editorial directives been given to ABC news bureaux, news or current affairs or documentary teams or other ABC journalists with respect to the Gaza Israel war, the Hezbollah Israel war, Iran, Israel, antisemitism and the Holocaust since 7 October 2023: if so, can they be provided? 8. Has the ABC received requests or recommendations for antisemitism training for its employees? If so: a. has such training been provided? b. If so, by whom or in what form has it been provided? c. If so, please provide a copy of such requests and training materials.
