Question
1. How many complaints involving racism or racial discrimination has SIA received in each of the past three financial years? Please break them down by whether the complaint was about a person, a sporting organisation, or an SIA staff member. 2. Of those complaints, how many were upheld, partially upheld, dismissed, or remain unresolved? 3. Has SIA conducted any surveys or reviews of its own workplace culture, including around race or cultural safety, in the past three years? If so, what were the findings and what actions were taken? 4. When a person makes an internal complaint to SIA alleging racism, what is the standard process? Is there a written policy, and can you table it? 5. What is the average time taken to resolve an internal racism complaint from receipt to final decision? 6. Does SIA use external, independent investigators for internal racism complaints, or are they handled internally? If internally, how are conflicts of interest managed? 7. What appeal rights does a complainant have if they are dissatisfied with how their complaint was handled? Has anyone exercised those rights, and what was the outcome? 8. How many SIA staff members have faced disciplinary action for conduct involving racism or racial discrimination in the past three years and what was the disciplinary action taken? 9. Has SIA ever referred a complaint about its own conduct to an external body such as the Australian Human Rights Commission or the Fair Work Commission? 10. Who in the SIA executive has direct accountability for complaints handling? Is there board-level oversight of complaint trends and outcomes? 11. Is there any independent external review of SIA's complaints handling function? If not, is that something SIA would support? 12. What training on racism, cultural safety, and unconscious bias is mandatory for SIA staff, and how recently was it last completed across the organisation?
