Question

On the Independent Parliamentary Standards Commission (IPSC) 1. How many people are currently employed by the IPSC? 2. In terms of the staff who are not Commissioners: 3. How many are ongoing/permanent staff? 4. How many are contracted (as of 1 June 2026)? 5. What are their roles (eg: administration, lawyers, etc)? 6. What is the remuneration of each of the IPSC Commissioners? 7. Are the IPSC Commissioners all full-time? If not, how much service or hours do they perform for their remuneration? 8. What was the total operational expenditure for the IPSC in 2024-25? 9. How many matters were under active investigation by the IPSC as of 1 June 2026? 10. How many IPSC matters that were accepted for investigation have concluded in total since its inception in October 2024 through to 1 June 2026? 11. How many matters submitted to the IPSC have been rejected for further investigation since its inception in October 2024 through to 1 June 2026? 12. After de-identifying specifics for privacy, list all the reasons that have been given to complainants for not progressing an investigation (eg: not a good use of resources, etc.) 13. How many penalties of any kind to any Commonwealth parliamentary worker have been imposed by the IPSC since its inception in October 2024 through to 1 June 2026? 14. How many parliamentarians have been issued with penalties? 15. How many matters referred to the IPSC have resulted in findings that require: Apologies Written reprimands Fines Training or professional development requirements Behaviour agreements Reassignment of duties Termination of employment Other sanctions? If so, please list them. 16. By financial year (up to 1 June 2026), how much has the IPSC paid in external legal advice/services? It is understood that IPSC Commissioners may impose confidentiality obligations to prevent individuals from disclosing or making records of certain information relevant to an IPSC process. If these confidentiality obligations are imposed, an individual will be notified in writing through a Confidentiality Notice: 17. Please advise how many people in total have been issued non-disclosure agreements and/or confidentiality notices to sign with regard to matters referred to the IPSC since its inception to 1 June 2026? 18. What are the potential penalties for anyone who breaches the conditions of a non-disclosure agreement or confidentiality notice? Does it include imprisonment? 19. Please provide the template written wording used to advise people of conditions regarding confidentiality, including any penalties for non-compliance. 20. It is understood some complainants are subjected to a lifetime confidentiality or non-disclosure obligations and not just while their matter is being investigated by the IPSC. If this is accurate, please advise how many individuals have been issued with lifetime agreements. If this is not the case, please provide further details which clarify the approach and implementation of these agreements by the IPSC to individual complainants and respondents with regard to the time period they are applicable for. 21. Has the IPSC conducted any user satisfaction or trust surveys with complainants or respondents? If so, what were the findings?
