Question

On various occasions, the PM has told Australians that the gas industry pays $22 billion in tax. He said it to ABC Radio and the Daily Aus podcast on 23 April, and on the 7 News Podcast, the Issue on 24 April. 1. What is the government source for that figure? 2. Is it normal for ministers or the Prime Minister to be quoting unverified figures from an industry with an incentive to inflate them?
