Community Legal Centres

Question

1. Community Legal Centres are reporting workforce shortages of approximately 2,000 staff nationally. Has the Department reviewed the workforce shortage in the community legal sector? 2. The NAJP commenced on 1 July 2025 with a commitment to "reduce pay disparity between community legal services and Legal Aid Commissions." What measurable progress has been made on closing that pay gap in the twelve months since the NAJP commenced? 3. The NAJP requires states to provide an annual projected funding report from 31 March 2026. Has the Department received those reports? Do they show that NAJP funding is keeping pace with demand?
