Question

1. What accountability mechanisms does the Commonwealth have in place to ensure that organisations receiving legal aid funding conduct litigation in accordance with their professional and ethical obligations? Were those mechanisms triggered by the Barossa findings, and if not, why not? 2. Will the Department commit to reviewing the terms of the EDO's grant agreement to ensure that Commonwealth funding cannot be used to fund political campaigns disguised as public interest litigation?
