Question

1. What is the Department's current assessment of foot and mouth disease and lumpy skin disease prevalence in Indonesia, what surveillance is being conducted at the border on travellers, mail and cargo from Indonesia, and how does the expansion of two-way trade affect Australia's biosecurity exposure? 2. Has the Department engaged with Indonesian authorities on the biosecurity risk profile of return shipments, conveyances and packaging associated with the expanded trade, given foot and mouth disease and lumpy skin disease remain present in Indonesia? What additional biosecurity measures, if any, have been implemented to manage that risk? 3. Has the Inspector-General of Biosecurity been consulted on the biosecurity arrangements supporting the expanded Indonesia red meat trade, and will the Department commit to a review of biosecurity controls on Indonesian pathways once the new establishments commence shipments?
